Who am I?

I have an MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and I am a Certified Emotionally Focused Therapist.  I have over 25 years of experience working with a wide variety of clients.  I offer great knowledge and compassion to my clients who deal with life transitions, relationship problems, addictions, grief, anger, stress, anxiety, self-esteem, trauma/abuse, adult child issues, self-harmful behavior, and mental health issues.  I believe all of life’s challenges are a natural part of the human experience.  My approach builds self-esteem and removes shame and stigmas, helping you grow and find effective solutions. I Have Worked As:

  • A Counselor in three different Residential Substance Abuse programs
  • A Counselor in Westboro State Hospital working with the Chronically Mentally Ill
  • A Counselor in an Outpatient Clinic working with Inner City Adolescents, Families, and Couples.

I entered into private practice in May of 2004 where I continue to integrate my diverse experiences and trainings with a wide variety of clients.

My First Career

I received my B.S. in Business Management from Bentley College and spent five years working for a corporation doing customer service, sales, sales management and office management.  After leaving that company I received my MBA from Babson College and went on to start my own independent consulting firm where I specialized in Total Quality Management, Manufacturing Processes, Employee Empowerment and Business Development.  Although I was successful at what I was doing, I never felt I was doing work that was truly satisfying.  After two years of being on my own I closed my business to get a degree in Counseling Psychology.

My Training as a Mental Health Counselor

I received my M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lesley College (now Lesley University).  After graduating I completed a year long post graduate training in Existential Psychoanalysis.  I have also participated in numerous professional trainings covering:

Becoming a Hypnotherapist

In 2008 I discovered the power and effectiveness of combining Hypnotherapy with Psychotherapy.  In January of 2009 I completed a Beginner through Advanced Course in Hypnotherapy and became certified by the National Board of Hypnosis.  I have been effectively incorporating hypnotherapy in my private practice since then.
