Seeing Our Racism

"Though race may not be based in biology,

as a lived experience it is all too real,

and drasitcally different for white people compared to everyone else."

Debby Irving

In this introductory workshop we will discuss the guiding principles, differentiate between prejudice and racism, and begin to examine the ways we have benefitted from and, knowingly or unknowingly,  have supported systemic racism. The goal of this group is to normalize and acknowledge our racist tendencies toward moving past them to begin to take more anti-racist action in the future. The timing of the group and the duration of the group will be determined by the level of detail and depth that each particular group chooses to go in. These will be 3 - two hour sessions one week apart. I'll be scheduling new ones soon. If you're interested please let me know. As well as doing this on Zoom I'm hoping to start having them in person at my office in Wellesley for those who have been vaccinated.
